Read the "About" page. Can't decide if he doesn't know the facts and background, or doesn't understand them. Just reading his description of Andrew Krepenevich robs him of all credibility , since it borders on libel. I was on my guard from the beginning, when he described, " The greatest build-up of Nato military forces since the Second World War is under way on the western borders of Russia," while giving no context at all for the actions (provocations from Russian scaring the h-ll out of everyone in the region, to the point that the Swedes started scrambling about to decide whether to join NATO or just to cooperate closely and the Swedish socialists were camapaigning against the ruling conservatives on the basis that the conservatives had gutted the country's defenses. Sure, it's all just an utterly unprovoked move by the United States to push the world to the brink of nuclear destruction for no reason except that the generals think that nuclear fireballs look really cooool …

By the way, if you read about the Chinese military journal article that argued that the island bases had a negative military value (it was posted to this forum), you'd really be wondering if Pilfer had done any research at all.

As with many things online or even in written form, in the media, TV, etc. Many times information seems to be "flexible". "Facts" are in the eye(s) of the beholder(s). Or those that wrote the article, report, etc., …
