"When about 300 Marines deploy to Helmand this spring, they will be returning to a province where hundreds of U.S. servicemembers died in more than a decade of war to subdue the Taliban. Now the situation has deteriorated so significantly, there are fears the province could fall to the same enemy. The Taliban nearly overran Helmand's capital, Lashkar Gah, several times over the last two years, including twice last summer and fall. Afghan forces have repeatedly dispatched elite fighting units and NATO and Afghan airstrikes to keep the Taliban at bay. i cannot stand the pheeling and the sadness that US and other civilised countries boys lost their life to protect people and libera them from Taliban animals..while those very people do not want to be protect and are indulgent with their Taliban slaver |

Yes, the US has @ 8400 troops there already. And as we see little has or will change. So I don't think 300 USMC will change anything. Save for the US wasting more money on a failed state which prefers to live in the past. And not go anywhere near the 20th Century let alone the 21st. I just hope no more US(or Allied troops, if any are still there ?) lose their lives for a 3rd World " hole " that only costs the civilized world blood and treasure. |
