"During World War II, a variety of unusual and anomalous aerial phenomena were witnessed by both Axis and Allied personnel. These were called "foo fighters" by the Americans. While some foo fighter reports were dismissed as the misperceptions of troops in the heat of combat, others were taken seriously, and leading scientists such as Luis Alvarez began to investigate them" link

Oh I like the models ! But all know that only one was made and it took Hitler and his cronies to the Moon. And they were flown by Bigfoot…
Where do you think the idea for Chewy came from in Star Wars ? |

This design is copied from the works of George Adamski and it is his 'Venusian' Saucer. The photos were first published in 1952 and it should serve as a warning to those who really believe these lamp-shades were real Nazi machines! |
Legion 4 | 15 Jan 2017 9:31 a.m. PST |
Yes, if look at the link, etc., you can find a model of the Adamski UFO too. But it is in 1/48 scale while the Squadron and Wave models are 1/72. But IIRC, Adamaski said the UFO he saw and flew in was just a scout ship. So it appears the Nazi version was much bigger. If you goggle link(s) you'll see even the interior of the Adamanki model is small with only a few seats. Where the Nazi Saucer interior has 9. As the picture shows … The Truth is Out There I use a 6mm HLS EXODUS WARS Saucer for one of my factions – Squats/Khazari.

Where do you think the idea of Chewy came from in Star Wars? So that was German, huh? No wonder I could never understand him. |

Hmm. So now next to my pencil sharpeners modeled after a Panzer IV and a Sherman, I can put a lamp modeled after a German "booty" flying saucer they captured from the Poles? See, deephorse, that's the original Polish interior, to go with the Panzer Gray paint scheme. Midwar--once the Luftwaffe got control of the program--the Fliegentishgewerk had it redone with a central command "throne." And Chewbacca is from the Frankenschweitz. It's not the language, but the accent. All very simple and understandable. You can buy the kit in the Area 51 gift shop. |
Legion 4 | 15 Jan 2017 3:54 p.m. PST |
There is even at least 3 kits entitled "Area 51 UFO" ! Lindburg, Testors and Pegasus … And IIRC the Lindburg kit has 3 figures. 2 Little Grays and 1 US Military Personnel wearing a Beret(probably Army SF) … |

Now I'm going to be on the lookout for old lamps and lanterns at yard sales. I think I could scratch-build a decent Invaders or Adamski style flying saucer for my game table. @Hafen von Schlockenberg: I have heard that Chuy is actually a Mexican character. |
Narratio | 15 Jan 2017 8:13 p.m. PST |
Hmmm, this looks very much like the flying saucer from the old "The Invaders" TV show. I suppose it's all the same root? I used to have a model – Who made it, Atlantic or something like that. Came with a couple of figures – time to go through my old junk boxes… |
Legion 4 | 16 Jan 2017 7:56 a.m. PST |
I too used to have that model too. IIRC, Aurora made it. I think you can get it somewhere online ? Along with all the others I mentioned … and more. Here's a link with pics including a link to the Aurora Invaders UFO … link link link Oh, all the odd esoteric factoids you learn…
Don't tell Adamski or the Venusians that !!!! |
