Can anyone advise me of the organisation of the Line infantry sappers please?
Any comments appreciated. Thanks

Nafziger suggests that at battalion HQ level from 1803 there were: 1 x Sapper Corporal & 6 sappers.
From 1810 the grenadier or cazadore company had 6 sappers attached, with none at battalion HQ level.

Agreed! 1 x Sapper Corporal & 6 sappers per battalion.

If you are interested in the Spanish Army I would highly reccomend the two books by G.CRONIN & S.SUMMERFIELD

Thank you for the information. Appreciated.

I did purchase a copy of Cronin / Summerfield book on infantry but that I am unable to locate at the moment.

My primary interests are standard bearers and sappers of all the various armies during the Napoleonic period.

Search of unlikely places at home has located the book.
