Surprised no one seems to have picked up on this. Brand new plastic Lord of Change, coming v. soon (early Feb, I think?).
Looks a bit good… |

It does look good. I have two of the old ones so I'm debating about getting this one. The one really nice thing is it is plastic, my other two are metal. If I found someone willing to trade this one, even unpainted, for a really nicely painted old metal one I'd probably do it. |

I don't think anyone picked up on it because GW not very popular around here. I'm definitely interested, though I'm rebasing mine for WHFB. Damon. |

I find a lot of the new large GW models a bit busy for my tastes. Wish I could get something stylistically more akin to the original but in the size of the more modern versions

Yes, Prince Rupert, I agree. I went with the Fractured Dimensions version for just that reason. I haven't received it yet, but it looks big. link I like the new GW model and will buy one. |

Yes, the new one is way cool, but how are these viable gaming pieces? I would also take the original Realm of Chaos variety. The more and more grandiose this stuff becomes, the less it interests me. But that's my two cents. |

I don't play AOS, but still fiddle with Warhammer. I would also take the original Realm of Chaos variety. The more and more grandiose this stuff becomes, the less it interests me. Absolutely. Could not be more true. |

I'd paint it yellow and call it Big Bird. |

That Thunder Chicken is way too busy. I prefer previous versions of the beast. |
The Hound | 13 Jan 2017 8:35 p.m. PST |
I like the older models better. i wish GW would go back to Metal |

Nice figure but not practical as a gaming piece imo. |

I find a lot of the new large GW models a bit busy for my tastes. I must admit that I find the model shown in the original post "a bit busy" looking, but I think in this case it is thematically justified – it is after all a Lord of Change, so all kinds of random weirdness going around it is quite fitting. That said, from a practical point of view something more streamlined might be easier to assemble, paint and handle. I presume that a sharp knife and selective choice of bits from the sprue might help to simplify the model. |

This is Change I can believe in! |

That old Lord of Change from the 80's is certainly cool, and it has it's quaint charm, but this new one is a masterpiece. Considering how well engineered the last several years of GW kits have been, it'll probably be a joy to assemble and paint, too. This is just one of the two variants you can assemble.
