Just a couple of new items for my Russians, a 4 horse limber and a bloody great 20pdr artillery piece, wouldn't want to be marching up to that link link Sorry about the bad pictures, need to get better equipment |

I do not think the pictures are at all bad for figures of 10mm size! Focussing is fine, lighting is good and you do not need depth of focus. Some will not enlarge, but that is the IT not the photography. I would say get the blanks filled in at earliest opportunity, without worrying about expert imaging. The figures do stand close inspection but do need to be illustrated to be appreciated. A thought. If you put on a white or light grey undercoat and then a light black wash over it…imagine how much better any detail would then stand out….and all reflection gone |

Thankyou for your comment, I normally wait till something is painted before listing them, but these have been sitting on my shelf since before Christmas, and just couldn't wait any longer, need to pull my finger out and get on with it, I suppose. Also a new camera would help, but all my hints for Christmas present didn't work, still the new slippers are very comfortable |

I got slippers too! They are wonderful. I had heard of plantar fasciitis, but it took a week of walking the streets of NY to discover how nasty that can be. Five months on still murder if I stand for hours in what US folk call the OR. Do not underestimate your figures or your camera. These are small subjects but, with decent lighting, the cheapest modern digital cameras can give reasonable images. I would not worry about painting. My idea was only to emphasise the excellent raised detail they seem to have. Bare metal reflects too much light, as would pure white. A pale grey base, a weak black wash, the same camera…..try it. Once. Just for me….. |
