"The Russian Defense Ministry has ordered a pilot batch of up-to-date RPK-16 light machineguns for delivery in 2017, according to the press office of the Kalashnikov Corporation.

"The RPK-16 is an upgraded version of the RPK-74 machinegun. The Russian Defense Ministry has placed an order for a preproduction batch to be supplied by the Kalashnikov Corporation in 2017," the press office said.

The RPK-16 light machinegun was developed by Kalashnikov at its own expense and unveiled at the Army 2016 International Military-Technical Forum in the Patriot Park (Moscow Region)…"
