All, I am looking for some decent looking river pieces for my 28mm ACW and AWI games. I already own the cut out pieces from Cigar Box, which are great and flexible for creating different battlefields. However, I want something more realistic looking and substantial. Any ideas? P.S. I do like the Cigar Box cut-out rivers, and I would recommend them if you are on a budget. I use and will continue to use their battle mats. |

Take a look at Wizard Kraft wizardkraft.net/Terrain/. I just received a Kickstarter Backer Reward package and the product looks great. |

I am a big fan of the Wizardkraft terrain pieces, as expounded on my two blog posts on their recently completed kickstarter: link link William is still working on cranking out product from the KS, so my guess is that new customer orders ,may not be accepted filled until this spring, but he now offers an amazing variety of options for rivers – 4 widths (water width 1/2", 1" 2" and 4"), 2 bank types (green or arid flock), 3 water types (blue, muddy, or dry bed, the later with or without muddy pools), and also the option to add rocks to the water, and all of that in multiple shapes and lengths, plus swamps, roads, and fields with more (hopefully) to come: wizardkraft.net/Terrain Any questions about availability can be addressed to William (owner) (I see Jon beat me to it) |

I'll suggest Wargamers Terrain. Very realistic looking. link |

Go to the fabric store and buy clear raincoat material. It's a shiny vinyl. Spray one side of it a mix of browns and greens and then cut into your river pieces. Deploy on the table shiny side up and disguise the edges with scatter terrain and foliage. Looks very good. |

Another vote for Wizardkraft. i have had the 4" and 2" rivers for some time as well as William's roads and I can't recommend them highly enough. |

The Wizardkraft rivers are excellent. I received mine shortly after the kickstarter ended, and was stunned by how good they are. Am very eager to add roads. Gonsalvo, thank you for the information about production and time. I understand that William is doing it all on his own. My second order seemed to have disappeared into the ozone, and William wasn't answering my e-mails sent to the site. Now that I know he is swamped, it goes a long way to understanding the time lag. I do wish that he would take a few minutes to answer his e-mail, however. As to the quality of his product, I think its the best on the market, and I'm eager to add more, even if it takes more time. |

Wulfgar, I'm glad you're pleased with the WK product – it is hard to adequately convey in pictures just how nice this stuff is! I suspect it is going to take him another 2 months or so to fill all the orders from the KS; I haven't gotten mine yet (no rush, I have a lot already, and I have $400 USD of product to be supplied!) Once the KS orders are all fulfilled, hopefully things will settle down to a steady business. Show this stuff to your friends – it won't be the style everyone wants, which is fine, but it is so well done that it sells itself if you like the style! |

Good to have a realistic time frame, Gonsalvo. Its worth waiting for. Thank you for passing that on. |

I'm a fan of Miniature World Maker but they are by no means cheap. |
