"For some time now, we've known that we'll be seeing plenty of new faces entering the world of kaiju and jaegers in ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising‘. Not only will Steven S. DeKnight replace Guillermo Del Toro as the director of the follow-up to the fan favorite robots vs. monsters film from 2013, but stars like Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, and John Boyega are preparing to be drift-compatible as well. However, it seems that a number of cast members from the first movie will be returning. And as if that wasn't enough, a star known for his work in other landmark sci-fi franchises could be joining the fun too. With production getting under way recently, all hands are on deck for the highly anticipated sequel, including cinematographer Dan Mindel. To mark the occasion, Mindel shared a picture on his Instagram from the set. Though the picture has since been deleted, /Film tells us that the shot showed a piece of paper taped to Mindel's camera featuring a list of characters and their corresponding cast members. Aside from Eastwood, Spaeny, and Boyega, it also listed Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, and Rinko Kikuchi as Newt Geiszler, Hermann Gottlieb, and Mako Mori respectively. This is very happy news for ‘Pacific Rim' fans who are looking to revisit some of their favorites from that universe. Unfortunately, Charlie Hunnam's Raleigh Becket is someone that won't be back for another round. Although, the film may find some extra star power in the form of ‘Dredd' and ‘Star Trek' star Karl Urban. The site also reports that a name on the list was slightly blurred, but looked very much like Urban's name. The actor responded to the story with this tweet…" Main page link Amicalement Armand

One of my favorite movies! You can never have to many kaiju in a movie. |

I was a little underwhelmed with PR. It's a bit too campy even though I used to live in Singapore and grew up on a steady diet of Ultraman TV shows and classic Godzilla movies. I did like the Gareth Edwards-directed 'Godzilla' reboot a lot though. I'll still see PR2 but I'll temper my expectations this time. |

I never understood how they could build all of those almost-indestructible mechs, yet couldn't build their defenses and buildings out of the same material… |

I hope they make clix figures again! And put out clix for the missing kaiju from PR#1 (not that I'm really holding my breath on that, but why they skipped the biggest kaiju still bugs me). |
