whilst I like the rules and can use them for the FIW and imagination army games. I struggle to find historical actions of the small kind the rules are meant for in the Napolionic era. Does any one know of scenarios for such small bodies of troops in the Peninsular? I am not talking about Sharpe novel scenarios but real actions fought. Did such small bodies encounter and fight each other in reality indipendently of the rest of the army? |

Yes. Soldiers' diaries, letters, memoirs are the best thing to read. A couple of incidents I can remember reading, both from Spain. An attack by about 80 men of the 18th Hussars on a village on top of a hill, defended by some French Light Infantry and Dragoons. A British officer witnessed an attack by Spanish guerillas on a French convoy of wagons escorted by French Hussars. |

Those sort of actions rarely made history books – your best bet is to read memoirs. The spaces between (or behind) armies would be full of small scale actions |

Take a look at the Tyrolean Rebellion led by Andreas Hoffer. Lots of room for small actions. Here is a link for some background: link |

Ned; I have a set of rules that I wrote for sale that includes 25 scenarios. Although based on Sharpe-like characters, these scenarios are based on information that occurred in the Peninsula (in Spain and Portugal) according to research that I have done and by a friend who grew up in Portugal. Trundle over to the following link and if interested, give me a shout: battlefieldgamedesigns.com Here is a write up from Historicon 2015: TMP link Regards, Hitman |

Thank you all for the pointers. I will now rebase some AB minis for the rules. |
