Our massive Stalingrad game is not yet ready, so last night I threw together a fast and deadly scenario for the lads with Lion Rampant. We had 8 players, each bent on looting and plundering a village just after the harvest was in. Sheeps, cows and grain, plus whatever could be found in the huts themselves were all ripe for the plucking. Players were awarded points for each hut raided and each animal stolen. They were also awarded points for each enemy unit eliminated. In addition each player had a secret objective worth 2 Boasts (aka Victory Points).

It was a brutal and bloody game. We played on a 4 x 6 table so we were in action pretty much right from the get go. I was going to use my singly mounted figures but was pressed for time. So we used my mass game stands and just counted each stand as 2 figures (regardless of how many figures were on the stand). Single hits were marked with a bead and stands removed as play progressed. It worked well though the stands still made people think of "formations" no matter how many times I repeated that every unit was a "mob."

I ended up placing 3rd I think with 22 points. I killed two units in one turn, meeting my private goal, but all the rest of my points came from looting.

Can you let me know what modifications you used for Vikings in Lion Rampant?

nice report. I also use LR for Viking games, it works really well and I don't change anything in the rules.
