I was wondering if anyone has come up with a way of introducing other Races into Retro Raygun?

I have bought starter forces for the Galacteers and Valkeeri but am wondering how to get friends interested in the game, as that only leaves the Robot Legion for them to buy. A force of Slishian's could be fun but I don't see an Army list for them.

I also came to the realisation that I have run out of room in my games room with several projects not even started, and will need to sell some things off. One of the small lead piles is 3rd edition metal Orks. I sold off my painted stuff years ago but really like these. Deth Copters and jump packs could fit in well. I'd also like some primitive Humans like the handful of Aztecs that I have which I would like to use as Miners and Mind Slaves for the Valkeeri. A planet bound Human Army could be interesting to fight against the non Humans.

I bought a Water Squirter today which I intend to convert into a Buck Rogers type Rocket. I've also gathered a box of interesting items for terrain over the years which will come in handy for making terrain. (Which made me admit to myself that I need more room).

I've asked on the Hydra Facebook Page about other lists. I know that Matt is definitely working on lists for the Zathurians and the Empire. Also, the rules book does provide stats for other aliens, so you could probably build up an army list from them.

I think space orks would be great and sort of fit in, probably the Rogue Trader Orks, though.
How about a race of big-headed alien mystics controlling an army of
Reptilians?

@nnascati. I really like the Flash Gordon look of the Imperials and could see my mate buying some of those but there are only Troops made so far. I don't really like the sculpts of the alternative range of them. The Zathurians also look good but not enough made yet.

@Capt Flash. I see Space Orks as scavengers roaming planets looking for technology to adapt to their own use. I'm not sure if they eat Humans but that could be a possible use for captives. Reptilians could be fun.

I have some of the Crooked Dice Planet of the Apes figures which could be a primitive ground based Army.

I really wish that I had kept the 20 or so Praetorians that I sold off. I do have some Orlocks and Escher which could be used as armed civilian settlers.

Anyway thanks, I though I'd ask if anyone else had some stats worked out for any other races before I start to do it myself.

The Counterblast minis have a retro look:

Those miniatures look nice, but expensive.

D A THB, I think the style of the Hydra Minis is such that no others will look exactly right with them. That said, when Matt is done, I think the Zathurians and Imperials will add two good factions to the game. I'm content to wait and see what he produces. And don't forget, there are the races on Primordia which can be used as factions.

Thanks Nick, I am in the process of trying to sort out some old figures and deciding on whether to sell throw out or keep them for this game.
I am sure that Matt will continue to produce some more figures if not more ranges, and hopefully there will be a supplement for the rulebook with other races at some stage.

I can't find that Flash Gordon style space ship at the Counterblast site.

Is it available?
