re·hash
verb – put (old ideas or material) into a new form without significant change or improvement.
noun – a reuse of old ideas or material without significant change or improvement.

This first week of 2017 I played 2 games of Flames of War! Bouncer was kind enough to let me win a pair of mid-war games with my US Light Tank Company against his Italian Paracadutisti. Great fun! We played and gabbed til near midnight and it was like old times. Nothing like a couple wins to stroke the ego.

I dropped a mint on Norman, Irish, and some others with Gripping Wallet. Don't even ask how much. I think I pretty much have all the Colin Patten sculpts at this point for Vikings, Danes, Irish, Romano-British, Germans (Early Saxons), Angry Saxons, and Normans less the foot.

Wasted a shedload of time on the internet. Still gobsmacked people can't figure out how to embed photos into forum posts.

Cracked open a few blisters I may report on next week.

Endorsed Obsidian23 as a good trader.

Fought with my inferno Canon, Foldio Lightbox, and cheap arse glass (lens) to take one single picture of something I actually finished painting!

I also renewed my supporting membership and bought some disinfectant so I could go into the lounge.

I still think the TMP system for embedding pictures in forum posts is unnecessarily complex. It relies on you using one of the Cloud storage systems for your pics so that each pic has an url. I store most of my pics on devices or local hard drives. I have no problem uploading a picture to Ebay straight ftom my picture library. Surely TMP could have the same feature? Or do we have to wait for TMP6?

@steamingdave47

TMP is not a photo hosting site. There are plenty of those out there free and paid. It is unrealistic to think TMP would host terabytes, petabytes, and beyond…..

Week 2 Update

I spent the week working on 12 M5 Stuarts for Flames of War. The models are Battlefront and typical of their output.

I am a bit bummed to hear that Light Tanks will be nerfed in V4 but such is my luck and skill (lack of) at list creation.

They are ready for priming and it looks like we might hit 50 degrees later in the week so I hope I can find a chance to spray prime them.

Besides this I received some figures from Saxon Miniatures and Footsore Miniatures that were ordered in December. A couple minor issues with them but I have complete confidence both suppliers will sort them out promptly.

I like to go through my figures after I receive them even if I don't plan on painting them straight away.

I am also offering up a chance to win a year of supporting membership on TMP so check it out.

Week 3

I got the Stuart's primed and base coated with highlights.

I realized I basically had a bunch of ready miniatures and improvised a game with the kids.

I'm actually excited about this. Yeah, Lego's are expensive but so is all that unpainted lead. I'm getting more Droids.

I think we only have 6 participants in my challenge so far. I'll make a update post about that in a few daze when I free up a bit.

I almost forgot I got my stuff from Mirilton this week and hope to base a couple things.

I also based up a batch of 15mm Cavemen and prehistoric animals to playtest some rules.

Pictures of the later 2 next week.
