So I'm quite a ways off from starting Orks but I was wondering if anyone was using MB rules or minis in their army?

They were my favorite part of Orkish armies back in 2nd Edition (the last time I played an Ork army!).

If anyone still tinkers around with them let me know what rules and minis you are using please.

Challenge is the limited HQ slots in a "battle forged" Ork army under the current 7th Edition rules. You get 3 HQ slots in the Ork Codex and using the Ghazghull Supplement increases your Troop and Elite slots but reduces the HQ slots to 2.

Adding in a Mad Boy means you leave out who?

I used to cheat with ig by taking multiple organization charts so I could get more heavy weapons squads

Don't forget that a lot of ork units can upgrade their noble to Mek boys now. This is the only way to get a larger than normal number of mad boyz which unfortunately have been now lumped into the mek boyz.

Forgive me for not being familiar with the current Codex, I've ordered it but not received it as of yet.

What I recall from the old days is that mad boys were either a troop choice or as a bodyguard for Weird Boyz.

I just loved their unpredictability (even for Orks) plus they were fun models back in 2nd edition.
