Ever have a game where it comes down to the last roll of the last unit of the last turn to see who wins? I just did. My gaming buddy and I play Tin Soldiers in Action over Skype.

Having read your AAR it seems as if you both had a great time fighting this classic battle. I liked the use of Skype (very clever use of modern technology) and as I already own the TSIA rules I found your blow-by-blow account helpful in understanding how the rules work.

As to the game lasting to the last throw of the last unit … well that must have increased your mutual enjoyment of the battle. It has happened to me in the past, and those battles were all memorable.

Hey Bob! thumbs up I never did see a final review of TSIA on your blog. Did I miss it, is it still in the queue, or did you find that it did not generate enough interest when you first mentioned it? I would be interested in your opinion, if you have played the rules since that first post.

It is interesting that when I posted my review on here, for those that mentioned they were disinclined towards TSIA said that they were happy to stick with the Portable Wargame. Hey, as long as it is a grid-based game, I think we are making progress! grin

Dale Hurtt,

I've been spending quite a lot of time getting my PORTABLE WARGAME book ready for publication, which is why I haven't yet done a proper play-test of TSIA or TMWWBK as yet. I also have another non-wargaming project that I have been commissioned to do, and that is pushing other things down the queue. So much to do, and even though I am retired I seem to be having to juggle projects all the time!
