Rookie questions for you (related to my FlashForge Finder): 1. Using the FlashPrint slicer (until I can justify purchasing Simplify), which defaults the z-axis motor voltage to 40%. Is there any reason this shouldn't be set to a higher %? 2. After adjusting my travel speed and retraction (and making sure everything is tight internally), I'm still having stringing issues (using Hatchbox silver PLA @190-195c). Suggestions for ridding myself of this? Thanks in advance for any assistance. |

Maybe try to alter your retraction settings, this can impact the stringing issue. |

Done that (see #2); reduced the problem, but didn't solve it. Retraction is set to 5mm, with 100mm/s retraction time and 200mm/s travel time. |

Try altering your temperature as well and if you can adjust the fan cooling speed a higher setting might help. I do not know if you can totally eliminate the hairy artifacts. I have found that no matter what I always get a little. |

Depending on what shape model you are printing, poke around the slicer and find 'vase mode' – it basically tells the program to keep the nozzle movement inside the model perimeter and not take shortcuts through open space unless absolutely necessary. It does take a bit longer though. |

I know our printer is fullsy on room temperature as well. Too hot can mean a bit more string. It miaght depend on the filament standard. There does seem to be a bit of brand to brand variation. |
