Here is one of Studio Bergstrom's new J'Guairre line of miniatures, specifically the battleship. I intend for it to be a new class of post-Next Generation Federation warship.

My initial thoughts are to say that it was built Post-Dominion War by a more militaristic faction of the Federation council in secret, but that when it was eventually needed due to some civilian political blunders, and war broke out with the Klingons, it made a massive difference in the outcome of the new war.

I am thinking of using a medium singularity launcher spinal mount, and say that due to technological breakthroughs enabled by integrating some elements of Dominion technology, that the phasers and advanced screens will use the Miniaturization rules (at higher cost of course). I had considered doubling the mass of the launcher and saying the extra mass consists of more power reactors that enable the ship to fire the weapon every turn without having to coast (not use thrust) for a turn. Not sure about that one, but it's tempting.

I plan to have a squadron of 3 of these painted up. They are named after old style Earth battleships (in reality I am running out of decals and had to use what I had…).

That thing looks fabulous. Well done on the paint choices, and well done to Studio Bergstrom.

DAMN YOU!

I think I have one of these in the last order from Drew. I'll NEVER get it painted after seeing what it would follow… ;->=

They are named after old style Earth battleships…

In the NAC, would that be a 'County class' BB?

Doug,

The decals I have are for old WWI-II era US battleships (Pennsylvania, New York, Iowa).

No reason not to paint it up and show us what you've got. :)

No, I got that; I meant that 'Pennsylvania' would be a county. ;->=

Doug

Edit: And to be honest, I've got bupkis.

What rules are these?

billclo07 Jan 2017 5:05 p.m. PST

The spinal mount would be a Point Singularity Projector from the Full Thrust: Project Continuum rules, page 47. Available here:

Miniaturization rules are found at the Weapon and Defense Archives, see here:

VERY nicely done!

Of course you post this while those of us on the civilised side of the International Date Line are asleep… ;)

I can only echo the other comments here; superb work on a really nice miniature. Effortlessly the most handsome application of a simple, effective colour scheme I've seen in a while. Top marks!

billclo07 Jan 2017 6:50 p.m. PST

Thanks. I am embarrassed to say that the white base color is actually Krylon Satin white. :) The rest is hand painted.

Now I hope that has made some of you guys want to go and buy some of them from Studio Bergstrom… :)

MacrossMartin07 Jan 2017 9:33 p.m. PST

It may be the camera then, but the hue I'm seeing is almost a dead match for the light green/grey that was used on the original Enterprise 11' shooting miniature.

Serendipity? Or perhaps proof that the 'right' colour for a Starfleet vessel is all in the eye of the beholder? :)

Mako1107 Jan 2017 9:53 p.m. PST

Very sleek.

I like it!

wargame insomniac08 Jan 2017 3:41 p.m. PST

Very nice paint job. I never knew good white to use for Federation vessels- I think you nailed it.

HOO-LEE Hell! Thats amazing!
I never cared so much for ST Voyager design itself, but that is Incredible.

I have Zocchi plastic Fed ships, wish they had done the Klingons in plasitc as well. I think I came up w/ a pretty good CL. Used the tug to start. Kind of a mix of the Miranda (Reliant) and the later Centaur. Dubbed it the Goddess Class.

BUT my paint skill would not come out on stage with that.
I just added some 'basic' points; front/rear of nacelles, the impulse eng. section thats about it.

*Billclo, where did you get the 'firing arc' Decal. Please dont tell me you hand painted that.. I'd drop dead.

As for using the Old Earth BB names.. that rocks. In 'my' ST universe, due to so many verisions of ship registration, I stayed w/ the idea that "Enterprise", "Saratoga" etc. were taken from old battles, so I named some of "my" CA's after battles. i.e. Plataea, Hastings, Rome, Stalingrad.

billclo09 Jan 2017 3:26 a.m. PST

The firing arcs are shown on a vinyl sticker that I had made by a local print shop. I originally had them made for A Call to Arms Star fleet with 4 90 degree firing arcs, and had them modified to suit Full Thrust. They fit 50mm bases. I used to sell them but sales were a little slow for the Full Thrust version since they don't work with the standard GZG black bases. I don't have any to sell at this point, but have been gathering pre-orders (no money involved) for awhile trying to get enough orders to make it economically worthwhile to print them again (need orders for at least 150 pcs).

If you are still interested, I could put up my email for you to contact me.

thanks for the info, I WILL keep that in mind.
I have seen a few gamers 'rough' draw them by hand.. it worked but of course not nearly as 'clear'.
As a rule, I still like the old 4-90' arc that came w/ the Zocchi ships. I guess it really depends on what rule sys. that your running.

Hey, I think it turned out Great.
In fact Im NOW considering to go looking for that color. Until now, I only sprayed my Fed ships w/ a simple base color of white, to be honest, it just didnt look 'right'. just a bit too bright.
