Another game was played, but due to last minute cancellation of players, it was scaled down.
And we played even with the not completely finished houses to see the complete picture.
The set up was the ending of the previous game: 2+ para battalions around the bridge,
the German blocks from the Museum, along the railway till the area near the waterworks on the Amsterdamseweg, Von Tettau in the attack over the DZ/ LZ area.
The actions around the bridge were in favour of the Para's due to bad dices of the German side. They were not able to make a footprint near the Oranjewacht (driven of by some good placed flamethrower bursts) or the schools.
But finaly they took the Red School not without many losses due to 3inch mortars.
The tanks of Knaust were destroyed direct of the next turn by a 6ponder.
The remaining Tiger tried to block the bridge on the city side, which was successful
The block around the Museum was turned into a counterattack by STUGs 280 and the 19 and 20 SS
The hospital was used for the cover of the retreat and was therefor a militairy tartget. The STUGs shot the wing into ruble. The British fell back to the crossing Bovenlangs/ Onderlangs
The attack of van Tettau was repelled and blocked due to effective fire support from Nijmegen and sinking moral.
Also the antitank screen put all Char B's out of action, as most supporting vehicles.
At de Leeren Doedel and the waterworks the germans blocked the advance, but had to give ground to 156 para, who managed to push back the units of Kraft just before the arrival of frsh troops: Bruhns…
Also the second bridge into Oosterbeek was block effective
So the German HQ at the station was covered with dark thunder clouds
