So back in 2013 was the last time I collected 40k minis and terrain. I had to take a break for a while and just started back up for the new year, this time delving into 30k. I had gamed 40k sporadically from 1987-99 but confess, my tabletop terrain had always been a bit uninspiring (not much beyond lichen, foam hills, and a GW ruin or 2). I was never much of a DIY type of guy. Just getting minis painted was enough of a labor for me to tackle. I looked for "good terrain" in a box, though that often meant paying the price of an entire miniature army just to buy a single piece! My point in posting here is to share a company that creates terrain that is both awe-inspiring in its appearance but also it's simplicity. Pieces are affordable (by my middle class standards) and will not require a years savings to buy 1 piece. While I have not physically sampled their terrain I have spoken by email to the owner who was most kind in his prompt reply to my queries. I post this business not only to share with but also, hopefully, to inspire you. I'm hoping you will share any other custom terrain makers that have inspired you and who don't cost an arm and a leg. Cheers for enduring the ramble. Here you go: blueforgeterrain.com |

I would say follow the link and look at the prices. $600 USD for a full 6 foot table of show quality terrain---sure they have that---and you get what you pay for $15 USD for a set of 3 full size cargo containers---great price if you ask me |

Terrement, I think if you look closely you'll find several nice terrain pieces for under $250 USD (US) that would cover 1/2 an 8x4 game table and look very nice while doing it. No one said this hobby was cheap, it's true! But if we could stick to the original idea of using this post to share terrain sources for 30/40k and not bicker over what one man's "affordable " is I'd appreciate it Fellas. |

They seem to be very well priced for what you get. I'd say they were underpriced. That Titan Lander for only $280 USD seems cheap, if they can get it to you intact. I'll definitely be back to their site. It seems like a good idea for stores to invest in too. |

Not a 40k player but they do seem reasonable to me and I might pick up a few things to enhance my tabletops. But then I never mind spending on terrain since I get so much more use out of it than any specific troop types. If you divide cost by the number of games you will end up using it for it doesn't seem so bad. |

Fantastic stuff! I would point out the letter "A" in front of their listed prices. Does that mean Australia? If so wait until they include the price of shipping in the final total and you will probably gasp… |

Some ambitious stuff! A lot of it is stunning in its scope. Thanks! |

Had a look. I'm not sure what they make it in, I'm thinking resin and or foam. A lot of it looks pretty chunky and clunky. The pricing (sorry) seems good for the smaller items, but a bit extreme for the larger ones. Question: Do they come painted? If you are in Oz, or don't mind some shipping: link Found 'em: link They are from Melbourne Australia. Their Ebay store does not exist? Perhaps in the process of being made? One last thing, I would wonder what GW would say if they saw it? A lot of logos there ("our products/designs"?). |
