I know there are others, H&R, Irregular, etc, but if you were doing an ancient army, Roman or Gallic or Carthos, which mfg would you use and why? No experience with either, so honestly wanting some insight from those that have.

Thanks in advance.

Baccus and Rapier go together well, so both.

I mix both in my Gallic army and they go together fine.

I think a couple of the Baccus figures are sculpted a little bit more finely – in the thickness of spears perhaps – but really, buy either with confidence.

Both have great figures which go well together. Buy both!

In fact, we recommend, especially for Gauls, that you use both for increased variety and look.

From what I have seen, I confirm that Rapier Miniatures figures mix well with Baccus, which can be useful if, for example, Baccus doesn't produce certain troop types.

Both are very good quality, in my opinion. Rapier seem to work out cheaper, but may take longer for your order to arrive. At one point Baccus was taking 3 weeks to process orders, but I am currently awaiting an order with Rapier from 2nd November. (Baccus cast their own figures whereas I understand that Rapier uses a third party for their 6mm casting.)

I've used both together on the same stand. They are both first rate figures.

The Gauls work particularly well together.

Piyan, hopefully yours should be with you, or at least on the way now. If not please contact me at the Rapier Email.

Yes, I also use both in my Seleukid army.

Thank you, Rapier Miniatures. I will give it about a week before I email you; it is an international order, and we have a little bit of snow here at the moment. :-)

I used rapier for my greeks carthaginians and celts and baccus for my romans and italian allies. It works fine togheter. Rapier carthaginian I especially like, and have the advantage that you can buy smaller packs in case you just need some troops of this kind. Baccus I find them very good especially for skirmish poses. You can make a nice mix between the two
