Last year I worked on a project on the land campaigns of this epic struggle between Peru and Chile. This year I'm having a go at the Naval battles that were pivotal to the overall outcome.

First report over on my blog: link

Have the ships, also from Tumbling Dice' what rules did you use? Almost looks like Hammerin' Iron with those hexes. Makes me think I need to paint up my Peruvian and Chilean fleets.

@Prince Alberts Revenge: The rules are based on Ian Drury's "Clash of the Ironclads" which were published in December's copy of WD's Nugget. If you don't know what that is, look here: link

Ian uses a hex mat. I don't have one and am too cheap to buy one at the moment, so I made a load of cardboard hexes and used them like in Hammerin' Iron II. I quite like them as they make it slightly more difficult to calculate exactly where your opponent will be. Still working out the kinks tho'.

Nice game, thanks for posting.
Using "moveable hexes", hadnt thought of that one, I can see where it "might" work for some games.

@Part time gamer: Can't claim credit for the movable hexes. I nicked the idea from Martin Goddard at RFCM.
