I'm planning on getting some shipping containers and there are (fortunately) many options including laser cut wood, paper, Reaper plastic, and even model railroad containers (though these are typically the most expensive).

I'm curious what others are using and are most happy with.

Thanks!

You mean to send minis to other gamers? I generally use whatever boxes I can find, shoe boxes, flat rate shipping boxes, etc. I usually place a smaller box inside a larger one and fill with peanuts.

I was heavy into AT-43 when it came out and use the ones I got from that game. I think I have about 30 of them. Have a couple of the bunkers and a bunch of the low walls as well.

I have some laser-cut ones in my shop ;-)

Ainsty Castings and Slug Industries both have resin shipping containers.

I live the AT-43 ones. The Reaper ones can't be beat for about $6 USD a piece though

Ebay has O gauge intermodals for around $10 USD at the cheapest. My preference, I picked up several that way for 28mm

Thanks for all the comments so far!

Nick--I meant sea transport containers, like this, for play with 28mm miniatures:

I am most happy with laser cut. O gage models and laser cut seem to be about the same price, but I have had problems with plastic quality and warped walls.

Least happy with paper---unless it is just background scenery---but anyone that places a metal mini on a paper container stack is risking having the mini topple to the table.

The AT-43 ones are great if you can find them.

I agree that the AT43 ones are the best. They're nicely compressed, in scale and fit 28mm figs well. They're also very well detailed You can even put 1/43 die-cast cars in them! However, they are quite expensive now and hard to find. I've got 6 and doubt whether I'll be able to acquire any more.

As a second choice, I recently bought a pack of the Crossover Miniatures containers. They're rather simple, but are very sturdy, look quite nice when done and are realy cheap at 4 for $15 USD!

If I need more containers I'll definitley be buying more of them.

I have the Reaper ones and they are great. Cheap, easy to paint and nearly indestructible.
