I've started a new 15mm scale line for some dumb reason.

Click Me, I'm a link!

What do you think? What should I sculpt next?

More poses.

Buckeye AKA Darryl04 Jan 2017 5:12 a.m. PST

I agree with 79th, add more poses, including leadership types. Are the goblins meant as one faction and the Uruks a second faction? If so, separate them in your store. If not, then work on an opposing faction.

The sculpting style is quite nice. Looks detailed, animated. Perhaps, to entice more customers, is to offer the same types of figures with more traditional fantasy weapons based on a certain trilogy. :)

I find the 'heavy weapons' tempting from a VSF point of view.

Sorry, I won't say 'steampunk'. ->=

Nice sculpts. No suggestions on future sculpts, but I would recommend more contrast with the captions on the website. I found the dark gray on black a little difficult to read.

Good luck with the store!

Nice figures. "Proper" scale. wink Too bad I am not into Fantasy races in SF or VSF at this time but, in theory, I might try some in 2018.

Good luck!

Agree with expanding into other groups as opposition.

Not a big fan of the goblins (the huge faces don't work for me) but the Uruks are really nice. Next sculpts:

1) More support weapons for the Uruks (flamethrowers, grenade launchers, something a bit more techie).
2) Rifle-armed Uruks (ie. armed with one large sidearm instead of the pistol/sword combination).

I would consider those as the minimum requirement for a large-ish force, as opposed to "those look nice – I'll have a pack or two". Leaders would be nice as a stretch but given a combination of rifle-uruks and melee uruks, you could easily use the melee types as officers/squad leaders.

erraticassassin:

I've already sculpted an Armoured Leader Uruks set, and next I'll be sculpting an Uruk set with Riflemen and a Rocket Launcher as a squad heavy weapon.

Would that be enough variety to entice you? I need some initial purchases to make it financially worthwhile to expand the range further. :-)

Are the goblins meant as one faction and the Uruks a second faction?

I think it's pretty obvious they are both (very nice) proxies for a 15mm version of another game.

I could stand more variants, too, but have seen worse! I have passed up more than one minis line because there were two "trooper" poses- with something like one generic advancing pose, and one guy pointing.

Troublemaker Games04 Jan 2017 9:08 a.m. PST

The Beast Rampant:

At the moment they're part of the same faction I guess, if they prove popular and I get enough sales to afford more moulds, I might split them into two factions.

I think there's scope in the future for releasing extra pose packs, again, that depends on the initial sales.

Brilliant! Can't wait to see more!

Quite possibly. :D

I like them, but I'm going to have to wait for additional packs/poses/sculpts until the "rest of the world" shipping makes a purchase more reasonable. Comes out to $13 USD shipping to the USA for just a pack of the Uruk Warrior Set and a pack of Goblins with Heavy Guns. Ouch. (I don't need the 40 gobbo pack as they stand right now.)

Hopefully our friends in the UK buy enough so you can keep expanding the range. I do like them.

If I were to get those Goblins, I would add hair to the top of their heads and sides and use them as hybrid primates!

I would convert them into genetically-enhanced baboons, which means they would end up much taller and less hairy than just regular primates.

Those Uruks are the bizzness….I'd expand those.

cloudcaptain04 Jan 2017 6:38 p.m. PST

How "tall" are the orks? Are they 10ft to a 6 foot 15mm human for example?

kallman04 Jan 2017 6:51 p.m. PST

Love to see more poses as others have stated. I tend to run 15 mm Sci-Fi games that are between a large platoon and small company. So I like to not see a lot of repeated figures if possible. I like what you have done so far but have not purchased for the reasons above.

Troublemaker Games05 Jan 2017 2:38 a.m. PST

Mister Tibbles:

Glad to hear you like them.
I've set the prices for international shipping in two bands: £0.00 GBP-£30 is £10.00 GBP shipping, and anything over £30.00 GBP is £15.00 GBP shipping – so the shipping is held at that level even if someone decides they really really need 20 packs of Goblins or something. :-)
Unfortunately the royal mail is just pretty expensive when shipping outside of the EU.

Cacique Caribe :

The Uruk warriors might make pretty cool hairless gorillas for your concept, too…

cloudcaptain :

The Uruks are 15mm to the eyeline for the tallest ones, slightly shorter for the ones that are hunching forwards.
The Goblins are 10mm to the eyeline.

kallman :

How much variety would you like to see?
My current release plan is:
1 – Armoured Uruk Leaders set (multi-pose models for a lot of variety) – Already sculpted
2 – Uruk Rifles (4 poses) & Rocket Launchers (2 poses) set similar to the current Warriors set – Not yet sculpted but will certainly be done.
3 – Uruk Melee Set B (6 new poses of the pistol & sword Uruks) – Will sculpt and cast if the initial sets achieve some sales
Would the addition of Melee Set B entice your interest, or would that still be insufficient?

FincasKhalmoril05 Jan 2017 10:05 a.m. PST

Well, im interested and will make an order! Do you have any plans for the future? Im pretty heavy into 40k/Rogue Trader in 15mm and would love to see more!

Troublemaker Games05 Jan 2017 10:58 a.m. PST

I'd like to expand this 15mm adventure into covering several different armies, given time. I've some vague thoughts on a rule set too.

FincasKhalmoril05 Jan 2017 1:22 p.m. PST

space Goblins and uruks are certainly a desideratum. I built mine mostly from the Ion Age range (shia khan), modified demonworld fantasy orcs and 10mm troublemaker games space goblins plus some of the 15mm cp models space orcs. So your new 15mm line is a welcome addition. Especially if it will be a whole range and not simply a couple of odd figures.

From my humble p.o.v. 15mm space opera gaming is lacking an eldar or space elf equivalent, too, as well as truly classical stuff reminiscent of the pulp age, like space amazons or robot invaders.

But these are just my 2 cts…
