Tempted to get some Warlord Portuguese plastic figures to try to convert to American regulars, they seem less fussy with less lace to scrape off than British. Anyone any thoughts on this?

This seems a good idea if you wish to portray the later US uniform with a plain jacket and false-fronted shako.
Recreating the 1812 US regular uniform would be more difficult.

I had the same idea until I ended buying a painted lot of US 1812 figures off eBay.
