Currently, the Classical Asian Warfare board is specified as:

For discussion of anything related to Asian wargaming in the Ancients, Medieval and Renaissance periods.

Since there is a lot of crossover between historical Asian and fantasy Asian, should the board be expanded to include Asian Fantasy figures?

Or should there be a separate Asian Fantasy board?

Separate.

Prefer separate personally, although I can see a case for the actual mythology of the region or the legendary/semi-legendary such as the person of Tomoe Gozen and the exploits of Minamoto "Raikō" Yorimitsu.

Nails-on-the-chalkboard for me are pictures of general fantasy figures with a vaguely "oriental" look tacked on but no connection to Asian mythology whatsoever…

The description is also a bit weird, since for Japan at least, it feels reasonable to talk about anything up to at the Russo-Japanese War, or even WW1.

Personally I don't mind seeing things from Bushido and other Fantasy style games now and then. Which is how it is working at the moment. I don't Think it's a topic that is large enough to warrant multiple boards, as even this board moves relatively slowly.

Looking at the first page I see posts 6 months back, it's not like the historical stuff is overwhelmed by Fantasy to such a degree that it's hard to read up.

I think due to volumes we don't need to split off an Asian Fantasy board from CAW.

Besides, I generally agree with MikeO's comment about the actual mythological/legendary characters belonging in CAW.

50/50 so far? grin

I would include the fantasy. Some of the figures released as fantasy could actually be used in historical gaming. The figures I am referring to are Sohei, but I'm sure there are others that would cross over.

Personally I pay no attention to any of the fantasy, I prefer the historical but as already said, probably not worth another board so mixing is fine.

Its kind of nice to have it all in one place, Bill.
