Most of my scenics are finished with the old Games Workshop 66-41 modelling flock. This was a more granular type flock, like a very fine sawdust (but green)

They seem to have gone over to static grass these days.

Any idea where you can still get this, or if someone else is making something very similar?

Model railway suppliers are your best bet, but you have to check what is stocked in person – as you have probably already found it is impossible to tell what you are getting from a picture on a web site.

Bsrlee, yes, the problem I am having is working out what it actually looks like and whether it's actually flock or static grass

Mattt, that's for that lead, I'll check into it

I've been using Army Painter Moss Green flock to replace the long-departed GW flock:

Try Scenic Express.

Ive used the GW flock for several projects, but loved it for covering hills. The material wasnt completely colorfast,so if you overcoated it with a pva/water mix, some of the green would run, making a blend of colors.
