…Has there been a fairly large and steady increase in civility for the past three to four weeks, across the board, here or TMP?

It seems like old times.

Everyone is being well behaved as 2016 is still killing people. Carrie Fisher's mother just died.

Really…If you survive 2016, it just confirms that you are a NOBODY!

Just because 2016 has repeatedly defecated on me does not mean I need to be uncivil. The TMP Bunch have helped me through many hard times this year, and I have every reason to be polite.

The supply train has gotten through with the sedatives?

I'm getting less testy as I get older. Or maybe just more tired.

Oh. And "Carrie Fisher's mother" is still known to some of us as Debbie Reynolds. I yield to few in my admiration of Princess Leiea--and I'm still trying to find a casting of her in that bikini with a pintle mount weapon. But look up Debbie Reynolds in her prime some day--the original How the West was Won, perhaps, with her singing "What was your Name in the States?" and "Raise a Ruckus." She was not a lesser talent.

Maybe cause an ODD year is coming around the corner everyone wants to make "nice" to make up for earlier transgressions!!

Ignoring the dawghouse and not being in the lounge where bad behavior is ceaselessly rehashed has increased my enjoyment of TMP.

In her prime, heck, almost any time, Debbie was a great song and dance talent. Remember "Singing in the Rain"? Got to fire up my google-fu but I'm pretty sure she had pop single hits in the late 50's through the 60's in the US.

And yeah, I think 2016 is going to go down as the year that hated artists.

It's amazing what can happen when people talk about actual wargaming, and not all the other stuff.

I think it has more to do with the question that was recently asked about how often you don't post to threads on TMP and answers that ranged in the 90%+.

I'm 33 and I completely forgot that Debbie Reynolds was Carrie Fisher's mother. When it finally clicked, my mind simply started counting the number of times I had watched "Singin' In The Rain"…

My patience was the only thing that increased in 2016! Which increased my civility. Well maybe waistline a little. I think I was challenged less this year too.

Not to mention a TV series in the late 1960's,a celeb exercise video in the 1980's or 90's("Do It Debbie's Way")

My stress level has definitely decreased now that we're not hearing about the elections every 2 seconds! :)
