Gents,

I'm in need of some Beau Geste era European civilian figures that will match up with my 1/72 plastic(Italeri, ESCI) Legionnaires and Arabs.

I checked at Plastic Soldier Review and didn't find anything that fit the bill, so I was hoping that someone who has more expertise in the period can point me in the right direction. They can be metal or plastic.

Also, I'm no purist, as I have some WW1 and Franco-Prussian war figures standing in as Legionnaires because I like the poses, so I'm willing to be equally flexible with the civilians.

I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I saw Foreign Legion and assumed you meant Arabic civilians. Have you looked at HO scale model train people? The detail is flat enough that you should be able to paint them as you wish.

I know you asked for Europeans, but look at these link

Thanks for the input guys.

nnascati: I was wondering about your first reply. I never thought to look at RR figures.

Paul Collins: I've seen those, but I'm hoping for some more high-falutin European looking civvies if possible.

rvandusen: The civvies will probably mostly be used as a hostages to be rescued kind of thing, so unarmed is prefered.

AICUSV: Nice. Pricey but nice. If I need Arab civvies they might be the way to go.

Turns out I found some paper figures on the Junior General website that could do the job if I absolutely can't find any suitable 3D figs. Still, I think that one of the metal figure producers has to have what I'm looking for. I'm just not that familiar with the figure lines for that period.

Anyway, the search continues…

I don't have any of these but they should work for you:

The puck is passed to genew49, he winds up, he shoots…he SCORES!!!

genew49, a million thanks. Those look to be just about perfect for my needs. Especially the A C Stadden ones from the first link.

And I probably would never have stumbled across them as I had a bit of tunnel-vision keeping me from straying outside of "wargame" figures during my search.

Thanks again. thumbs up

I agree with your assessment Blackhorse MP. I will be getting some from that first link for my colonial Brits to protect from all manner of ne'er do wells.

Thanks Blackhorse MP. Sounds like a fun project. Below is a photo an expanded version of Airfix's Fort Sahara my brother and I built around 1970.

As my brother often tells his wife:"The love of a man for a woman waxes and wanes like the moon, but the love of brother for brother is steadfast as the stars and endures like the word of the prophet."
