I've been admiring the Khurusan WSS range for some time but the cost of postage has been putting me off. I recently noticed that Eureka do so some 18mm Catalonian WSS which look rather nice: link

Does anyone know just how big the horses are? The Eureka horses for their MAW range are huge.

Would the Eureka infantry tower over their Khurusan counterparts should I ever buy some?

Thanks
Malc

Don't know the Khurasan range, but I do have some Eureka SYW. The horses in this range are big; much, much bigger than the Old Glory horses, but the Eureka infantry match up well with the OG infantry. I see both Khurasan and Eureka ranges are described as 18mm, so they might be OK. Both ranges look very nice, could be tempted if I was not heavily committed to 10mm in this period.

Little Armies, the Eureka SYW range horses are quite large in stature, as you know. The Eureka WSS range is smaller than the SYW in size, but still on the larger side.

I'm comparing some horses on my desk right now. I'd say the WSS horses, and the men, are just slightly larger than Old Glory, Legio Heroica, and the Khurusan horses, if you own any of those. They would mix well on the same table. Whether they could be mixed in the same unit might be a matter of personal preference.

I would not mix the Eureka WSS infantry with the Khurusan infantry. The stature of the Eureka infantry figures is much larger than the more slightly built Khurusan infantry.

That being said, I'm currently painting up the Catalonians and some Spanish from Eureka as Imagination armies for Sharp Practice 2. The Eureka figures are gorgeous. I'm hoping they will expand the Spanish listings in the near future.

Personally, if I was doing the WSS on purpose, I'd probably go with the Khurusan figures. They are quite wonderful, and the line is much more extensive than the current Eureka catalog.

If the cost of shipping should prove to be too prohibitive, The Lancashire WSS line is adorable, and easily obtained from within the UK. I really, really like them.
