Mu attempt at a conversion for 72nd Regt of Foot (Duke of Albany's Own Highlander) in trews. Need more practice on the tartan – apologies to all Scots and Scottish ancestry! abcwargamers.blogspot.co.uk. |

No apologies required. That is an excellent job. |

That's some credible tartan painting on an "S" figure! |

My feeling is that the tartan is certainly done well enough for this scale and these figures. More than credible! I'd be well pleased. In this time, the 72nd's pipers would have worn kilts in this tartan, with matching body plaids, over a dark green doublet, with dark blue glengarry bonnets, and sporrans of white horsehair with six small black tassels (arranged in two rows of three). Hose would be either the same tartan or red/black diced (sources differ; possibly these varied over time according to colonels' whims). |

Thank you for all your comments, much appreciated as is the information Piper 909. I like idea of the green doublet and it has saved me an awkward conversion. Happy New Year to you all. |
