…the Anzacs at Gallipoli. More than a myth?.

"ALMOST naked, her body painted camouflage green, she picked off Allied soldiers from a concealed firing post in the trees — until she was caught and slain by vengeful Australians.

Fully clad in traditional peasant garb, she gunned down unwitting foreign invaders from the windows of her white house, then crept out to plunder their bodies

The story of the female sniper(s) of Gallipoli is an extraordinary one. The woman at the centre of it achieved mythical status among the Anzacs and Brits…"

Well, after recycling an 18 month old 'news' article with a sensationalist title which itself then describes the reported story as a myth, you're definitely on my 'ignore list' now.

Bad mistake, inverugie.

Armand bombs quite often, about 33% of the time; but he more than makes up for it with all of the gems he finds out there.

I would reconsider if I were you…especially since you never know if a "Half-naked, camouflaged woman sniper" will be putting you on HER "Ignore" list in the very near future!

wink

I'm kinda disappointed that there wasn't a figure for a "Half-naked camouflaged woman sniper" included.

Dale Hurtt22 Dec 2016 2:55 p.m. PST

Wait was she half-naked, green and posted in the trees or was she fully clad in traditional peasant garb and gunning from the windows of her white house?

Yeah, it there are no pictures, I am definitely not clicking on the link!

if she had been "half naked" but attractive if i was an Australian soldier i would have spared her

Several centuries ago before the conversion to Islam there might have been Turkic women fighting half-naked. Even then on the steppes it isn't exactly balmy.

Absolutely don't see it happening after that.

Someone has been over indulging in the Xmas spirits – brandy, rum, whiskey, gin etc. I think.

Seems to be quite the season for zombie news stories too – over the last week there has been a persistent 'new' story on some Australian news sites of the death of Harry Morgan, only problem is that he has been dead for several years, they just removed any reference to dates.

Not to worry: Brother Vinnie will soon give us a figure. In heels.
