Dunno…there is a certain "Coy-ish-ness-ocity" missing. |

Dear Andrew Indeed, you have hit it on the head. If you look at the great illustrators of the pin-up era, Gil Elvgren, Soderblum, and especially Vargas, they do not have that bubbly smile or girl-next- door joyousness. |

Now, since three of them look like they could be French/European "Resistance" types, I could understand the sculptors reasoning, but still…a smile goes a long way towards disarming one's enemies. |

I think were more along the slightly ambivalent range, Armand. |

A little too "Ilsa"-like. Armand is a very cheerful fellow, Andrew. |

Looks like three out of four of these women are adjusting their dresses after visiting the ladies. Nino seems to have a moderately severe stocking fetish, too. So in reference to that, are the backseams molded on those stockings or will we have to paint them? This is an important consideration for figures like these. |

Nino seems to have a moderately severe stocking fetish, too. That's alright, after having seen the now infamous (and still HOT) Sophia Loren striptease in 'Love, Italian Style' and many other 'glimpses of stockings' in my youth, I can attest to having a RATHER severe stocking fetish! |

Remember that in the beginnings of the heyday of the pinup, the war years, both silk and the new nylon was in short supply, making them exotic, and therefore more erotic. Women even took to drawing seam lines on the back of their bare legs. No doubt post-war availability was a cause for celebration among women. Certainly seems to have been for men! A true "peace dividend"! |

(Groan)--I see editing has left me with "both was". Ugh. And now it's too late to change it. Mea culpa. At least I didn't accidentally type "bear legs". Though come to think of it, razor blades were probably in short supply too. . . |
