This page has a picture of a book with the standard on front dimensions are 1,10 x 1,10 meters with a light Blue center with text in gold; Landeværn for kongen og fædrenelandet. In the corners the kings monogram C7 with leafs on both sides. link |

The picture is for landeværn before 1808. The standard was sewn a white square covering the blue in 1808, so that there was no text. The holstein landeværn had german text: Landeswehr für König und Vaterland |

Interesting – thank you for those nuggets, Hornblaeser! Do we know why the need was felt in 1808 to cover this fairly standard text? The only similar practice I'm aware of was during the French Revolution, when the fleurs-de-lys of royalty were covered by small tricolours or white patches. |

In 1808 the Landevaern was disbanded, but the best manpower was used to create the 3 and 4 battalion of each line regiment, so a white patch covering the old landevaern patch was added to show they no longer were landevaern. |
