Today, we had a first outing for my new Wargames Factory Zulus! To see what happened, please go to my blog at this link Would our first battle be a Nyazene or Isandlwana? Here are a couple of pictures from the game…
Enjoy! |

Heads I win, tails Zulus. |

Excellent account! Looks like more bad news in the London papers to upset civilians at their breakfast. Looks like the Redcoats missed their cue to fall in and form square…. Nothing Johnny Zulu likes better than British flanks flapping in the breeze…. TVAG |

Correct TVAG! – I commented that although the stepped firing line is ok for shooting, they should have fallen back into a defensive formation when the Zulus got close. I thought it interesting to se that the 'Horns of the Buffalo' formation really does work, its really hard deciding what to shoot at first…! |

Looks great. More British or increased stopping power from their rifles… Were the redcoats outnumbered by about 4-1? |
Herkybird | 18 Dec 2016 11:47 a.m. PST |
Yes, they were almost exactly 4:1, I think the British could have won if they had used different tactics, or if we had got a larger table where the British could have opened fire earlier (they only just started at slightly over Medium range in my rules). I think its difficult to judge on 1 game how things play out, more play is needed! |
