Have you read any or many of the other "Origins" books? If so, how does it compare? (be interested to know afer you read it….) |

On amazon I see two by that author: "Origins of the first world war: Diplomatic and military documents" and "Origins of the first world war: Controversies and consensus". Which one do you have and are they both recommended? |

The Documents book. I am sorry I should had clarified it. "Origins of the first world war: Diplomatic and military documents" It is a treasure trove! The other one is also reputed to be a good book. If I remember correctly, a edited volume revisiting the Fisher Thesis. I hve not read it but it was cited in the Levy and Vasquez edited volumes, and the Clarke book. |

That's okay! Both look fantastic but they are a touch pricey so won't be able to grab both at the same time. |

I am currently reading "Catastrophe: 1914" by Max Hastings. It is an interesting read. |

Weasal the Documents book is really a specialist book. Not needed, and a cheaper option might be the older Williamson and Wyk book which does the same, though with far fewer documents link |
