I was gifted a supporting membership a year ago (thank you!), but I have to admit that I have done nothing with it. I intended to sell off older items from my collection, but I never got around to it and this doesn't seem like the right time of year.

That's why I think a TMP tee-shirt or small gift would be a better alternative for giving your financial support …or someone else's, indeed.

Supporting membership is rather limited. It got me into the Dawghouse! peace

I'm not saying that it's not worthwhile, mostly just that I dropped the ball on it.

Well, bring something to the Lounge Christmas party, at least.

I got gifted a membership a while back. I definitely sold some things through it and I was glad that some money was heading to support TMP in my name.

I don't participate much in the Lounge, but the low membership fee is definitely worth it to sell stuff. In my experience, there's alot of wargaming stuff that sells faster and more reliably here than anywhere else.

The true value of the Supporting Membership is that it helps TMP stay afloat. grin

I just sent you a terse greeting by IM, so there's that!

emckinney13 Dec 2016 7:12 p.m. PST

Yeah, but you can always receive IMs, you just can't send them (or initiate a conversation?).

I agree with Bill. The true value of the supporting membership is that it helps TMP stay afloat. I started my supporting membership in 2015. I had been following TMP regularly since 1998, and so after 17 years of taking advantage of all the information that TMP has to offer, I decided that it was time for me to give a little back. My only regret is that I didn't join sooner.

I support. I rarely go to The Lounge and related boards. It's sometimes useful to use the personal message function but I do it two or three time a year.

Why pay? So that TPM is here when other useful sites have gone.
