I saw these at my local HEB (God's supermarket for you yankees). $24 USD each. The second picture has a quarter for scale reference. Looks like I am playing the Waiting for Christmas discounting game early.

HEB where?

Waco Joe10 Dec 2016 3:37 p.m. PST

In Waco. Up front with their Christmas decorations.

Extra credit if you know what HEB stands for without Googling!!

I know, I know. I was a kid in high school working as a stocker when they finally started selling alcohol. Talk about a world turned upside down.

Those do look nice.

Thrown for a loop for a moment, and thought the bug hit here too.

Was expecting racks of apples, pears, etc..

I envy you. We get Central Market, but no HEB in DFW.

I think that I would be buying up now just in case they sell out.

They look rather shallow; more like a facade than a true model.

kallman10 Dec 2016 9:57 p.m. PST

wonder if those might be a Michael's or Hobby Lobby? Yes they appear a bit shallow but that might not be a hindrance. Yes, they have a South Western look but with a different paint scheme they could pass for Russian or Spanish.

mwindsorfw11 Dec 2016 6:05 a.m. PST

If they are too shallow, you could easily add a bit on to the back. A fancy facade with a plain building attached is completely in keeping with architecture in the Southwest.

Not too bad, particularly if they ever go on clearance. Would work fine as simple facades, or backdrops for photos if you don't do a lot of work to create buildings out of them.
