I want to try my hand at building a wargames' galley (something Bronze Age but a a later ship could be adjusted). I've looked on the web but can't find anything. Suggestions? Alternately, I could buy something at the right price….20mm? Is there anything available? |

Are you looking to build a display model or a gaming piece? There are some gaming style model plans at the Jackson Gamer's site. They are the same models used in Paul Hague's Navel Wargaming book. |

Thanks, gents. I'd found the Paul Hague book in my searching but didn't particularly want to buy a book but Joker's tip on the Jackson Gamers' site was what I needed. |

I decided to do one in 15mm for a local mini-campaign. I found there is a company out of The Czech Republic that does a plank and frame 1:72 scale 6th century BC Pentekonter. link The guy was kind enough to email me the plans for free. The only really hard part of knocking it together was figuring out the waterline. You could buy the kit, but you'd have to savage the parts so badly to get to waterline if might well be easier to start from just the plans. |
