Hi, I really wanted to refight the battle of Leuthen, but I had no time at all. So I switched to a simple parade of 9 Prussian battalions (about 4.200 paper soldiers) plus 2 hussar squadrons (180 papersoldiers) link

Really nice! Wish I had the patience to cut them all out! Bet it took hours to do that nice of a job just in cutting.About how many new blades did you go thru for that? (Or did you use a pair of fine craft-type sissors?) Very Impressive! v/r Tom |

Seriously impressive; this really helps give a sense of numbers and why battalions can't easily be pivoted on the spot. I have to admit I didn't like the idea of paper soldiers for a long time, but things like this are inspiring especially given the sheer amount of work that must have gone into it. What's your opinion of the "from the front" view types that Peter Denis is currently doing, paperbattles? |

Thanks Dye and Clibinarium!. Actually just one blade:-) For the "from the front" view I thought about it and eventually I found it good for infantry, but bar cavalry and guns (they are longer than wide). And there is another factor: if you cut the "from the side" view you will be able to array a much larger number of soldiers one next to the other. If you use the other system the battalion will be very very wide. COnsider that 1 battalion in this way (side view) is about 75 cm wide!! |
