My gaming group has been using Battlefront WW2 modified rules for the Cold War and have enjoyed it very much, anyone else using these rules for Cold War and if so have you re-made any cards or changed stats you thought were not correct. |

One of my future projects is to use it for the Yom Kippur. My group, however, is not very enthusiastic about the rules. Largely due to the influence of one guy who says they are too complex. I've read them through, they don't seem that bad for the scale they're aiming at. Any thoughts about the alleged complexity? Or how to "sell" or teach the rules to a group? |

@Pan, I do not like overly complex rules mywelf. It has been a few years since I played, but I would not classify them as complex. Here is one way to approach it: "Command and Control and Morale are combined and streamlined in the command roll. As a unit takes damage, both physical and moral, it is harder to control. This is all done with one dies roll and not several." |

The rules were originally written for the Cold Wars battles. Rich H may have the stats still. |

After a couple of turns the ease and flow of the game is both smooth and logical. The QRS has all the information you need. I've done Vietnam with the rules and everything went fine. We had to make a few adjustments, especially for fast movers, gunships and the Sheridan firing a beehive round. Most of what I had to say could be found on the forum. H |

I disliked the rules at first but the game sheet you get with the rules is easy enough to follow, thats what really sold me I just needed the QRS and didn't need to go back to the core rules for results. I do have a beef with the West German cards they are not complete and the infantry is rated as worse then the Soviets which I feel is in correct and a lot of the weapons systems are in complete. |

I've played the scenario from First Clash that is on the site, not a bad little game. My issue is finding opponnents |

No. Have some of their vehicles though, which I'm using/plan on using with other rules. Yea, West German infantry should definitely not be worse than Soviets. |

Mako11 I believe they are discussing Fire and Furies rules Battlefront link not Battlefront games Flames of War rules. Fire and Fury games do not make miniatures Confusing isn't it? |
Irish Marine | 07 Dec 2016 8:40 p.m. PST |
They used to be one and the same. Very old FOW miniatures have Battlefront on it the same as the rules. Sometime ago at least over a decade they split. |

Ah, I see, I suspect you are correct. Sorry for the confusion. |

Irish Marine they were never the same. Battlefront, the company, is in New Zealand and their rules are Flames of War. They are a miniatures and rules company. Fire and Fury are an American company and their rules are Battlefront WW2. They never made 15mm WW2 miniatures and I don't believe they ever made any miniatures. Much confusion, sorta like OG 25s and OG 15s but without the history. OG 15s bought OG's 15mm line, except for the 15mm Command Decision line, from OG now OG 25s. |

When my friend and I were pushing our miniature line, Legions East Battlefront was from my understanding in a loose partner ship with Fire&Fury to make miniatures for their new set of World War 2 rules which is Battlefront WW2. At some point they split apart, you can see some of the influences because of the set up of the cards in the FOW system, Battlefront WW2 has always used cards for their infantry, armor ect. |
