These are the titles on the list, using the new requirement of five voters before the rating is shown: 1. Dux Bellorum 2. Armati 3. De Bellis Antiquitatis (DBA) 4. Sword & Spear 5. Ancient and Medieval Wargaming 6. Lost Battles 7. Basic Impetus 8. Comitatus 9. Impetus 10. To The Strongest! |

Why are Impetus & Basic Impetus counted separately? |
Dale Hurtt | 07 Dec 2016 7:49 a.m. PST |
Now that is more like it, other than Dux Bellorum is a set of Dark Ages rules and not Ancients proper. (Although I did hear that someone made a variant for Sumeria, I believe.) |

Yes, it looks much more sensible now that a minimum number of votes are required. I was thinking the same thing about Dux Bellorum. Maybe even though it covers a narrower time period than most rules, the time period it does cover is deemed to overlap the ancients & medieval periods. |
Dale Hurtt | 07 Dec 2016 5:07 p.m. PST |
I agree that it overlaps the medieval period. But that has a separate list. The rules do not really cover the ancients period. |

Dux Bellorum claims to cover "from the middle of the 4th century to the end of the 8th" – and 500AD has long been the (admittedly arbitrary) point at which TMP divides Ancients and Medievals. |

Why are Impetus & Basic Impetus counted separately? They are different games. You would not consider Impetus to be a supplement to Basic Impetus, would you? |

Tactica? Really? I haven't played that in a loooong time. |

You have included both Impetus and Basic Impetus yet excluded Hail Caesar??!! Makes me question the validity of this list. But whatever floats your boat…. |

Just wondering how do I vote? Does seem a little strange that FOG and HC have their own discussion threads but don't feature. Also thought that Maybe L'Art would be there but that may just be because it is popular locally. |

Wargaming Insomniac – look closer: Hail Caesar is not excluded, it just hasn't done that well in the voting – not surprised either. And FOG and L'Art de la Guerre are there as well PrussianMonty. |

Just wondering how do I vote? You can rate any ruleset on its Rules Directory page. TMP link Does seem a little strange that FOG and HC have their own discussion threads but don't feature. Also thought that Maybe L'Art would be there but that may just be because it is popular locally. Latest rankings are: 1. To The Strongest! 2. Dux Bellorum 3. Armati 4. De Bellis Antiquitatis (DBA) 5. Basic Impetus 6. Tactica 7. Impetus 8. Ancient and Medieval Wargaming 9. l'Art de la Guerre 10. Lost Battles |

Just because a rules set is well distributed doesn't mean it gets a high rating right? |

Just because a rules set is well distributed doesn't mean it gets a high rating right? A well-distributed ruleset should get more votes because more gamers are aware of it, but that doesn't mean it will get higher votes! There may even be a phenomenon of people who vote against a ruleset simply because it is popular. |

Thanks for the voting explanation…really appreciated. |
