Anyone done or seen a build and/or scenario for Fort Necessity in 28MM? I've been to the site about a dozen times and I want to build one this coming year. Looking for pics or personal experiences.

Yes, I just did one for my daughter's 5th grade class that was studying the FIW. Basically took my Acheson Creations fort and left out the 4 corner blockhouses, and kept the walls and a little building in the middle.

Based on new research at the fort, the low earthen wall surrounding the stockade was actually topped by horizontal logs, making the works a bit more formidable. I believe, IIRC, there were two or three feet of horizontal logs.

I scratch built this out of candy apple sticks. I stained the sticks, placed them in an open bucket of water and left it outside all winter.
I'm planning on leaving a bucket full of 28 mm size sticks out this winter. You can buy them at Michael's. I used an electric pencil sharpener to carve the points. I beat them up by using a paint mixer attachment to my electric drill.
Worked a charm.

This is a great free resource from the NPS about the fort and the history of its interpretation. Lots of great photos, maps and site surveys.
