A great series of books that gives kids and teens a good grounding in the history, people and times that shaped our nation. A couple of the TMP'ers above could probably learn a great deal from them.

Well, looks like my joke was censured. It was there last night, now, poof it is gone……

StoneMtnMinis, better books, without a political bent would include Ester Forbes Johnny Tremain. The author is a well respected writter and historian. See her Paul Revere and the world he lived in.

As to your mention that " A couple of the TMP'ers above could probably learn a great deal from them" may I suggest my humble effort at history for young readers? Cobblestone publication on Lexington and Concord April 2002. I was the issues editor and wrote one of the articles. Good history. Also I donated my small honorarium to Minute Man NHP. So, no I for one would not learn anything from Rush Revere.

I did not like Johnny Tremain. Was forced to read it in the 8th Grade. Kenneth Roberts' books were better, including Arundel, Rabble in Arms and Oliver Wiswell.

I just wish that Rush would stop dedicating the last 25 minutes of each Friday show taking calls from 12 year olds telling him how much they love the books.
