OK, despite the obvious disdain that this question will bring, I find myself wondering: Beyond the 5150 Star Fighter rules, are there any rules sets (that are readily available) that focus on star Fighter combat? |

Assuming you are speaking about one model = one fighter types of games, then there is always Silent Death (which is fun and can be found at: silent-death.mx/) and Brigade Models has Squadron Commander (free download at: link) |

X-Wing, unofficial Battlestar Galactica rules using the Silent Death rules, Full Thrust – though more big ships with squadrons of spacefighters, etc., etc.. Hard Vacuum too, though I've never figured out how to play them. |

Aerotech? What's that Kickstarter with all of the plastic fighters? |

There's always the homebrew rule sets – such as link |

Mako: There are a lot of folk that'd use FT for fighters combat, as individuals, than as space ship games. Plenty of swoosh, though I'm a fanboy as is. I think for it's simplicity, it's very adaptable. Jon Tuffley also did rules for fighters called Tacship, easily findable for free. I participated in a KS called Star Crush, with metal fighters, but originally thought of doing my own X-Wing designs with them. Never did try to the ruleset. Dan, are those yours? I've chatted with the author, and if you, THANKS AGAIN! Doug |

@Whitestreak, did you know about the 5150: Fighter Command supplement called 5150: Carrier Command? Lets you be the CO of a Star Carrier, manage your squadrons, etc.

Some very interesting choices, folks. Thanks and I'll be looking more closely at them later tonight. I have Carrier Command. I like it – I'm just looking into other options. |

Doug – you're welcome, I'm happy you enjoy them. If you click on the link at the very bottom, you can check out some of my other rules. |

Does Carrier Command permit fighter vs. fighter combat, at the low level, or is it pretty much squadron vs. squadron, and above? |

@ Mako11 5150:Carrier Command is a supplement for 5150:Fighter Command, you have to have Fighter Command to properly use it. That being said, Fighter Command allows you to play any way you want, single fighter vs. single fighter, flight vs. flight, squadron vs. squadron, etc. With Fighter Command you can also command a CapShip, 5150:Carrier Command mostly expands on CapShip operations, mainly focusing on the space carrier aspect. Carrier Command allows the player to not only take the roll of ship's commander, but that of CAG. If, however, you just want play a purely space fighter game, 5150:Fighter Command is all that you need. |

I'll second the recommendation of Silent Death, especially if you like your fighter combat light and fun – it's much better than x-wing. |

Always liked Silent Death, so much I use some of the minis for FASA STSTCS games, rescaled of course! :) Has anyone ever done a SD conversion for Trek fighter combat? |

Has anyone ever done a SD conversion for Trek fighter combat? Actually, this is an ongoing collaborative project between Metal Express and ADB…

I would just go with Silent Death. It is a simple enough rule set with a wide range of ship types, and highly configurable to your liking. You can play small games of a couple fighters, or a ton of fighters, gunboats and escorts. |

Silent Death is my preferred choice, though I may borrow some of the THW campaign stuff. I have Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and Wing Commander projects for it, maybe my own setting if I ever get through painting the above. However, Ganesha Games has been chatting a bit about a forthcoming set of fighter rules using their system called Star Eagles. The rules would borrow from the Galleys and Galleons naval rules for things like movement. Will come with a DIY build system as well as its own setting. I'll take a look at these and maybe use them in parallel with SD, as Ganesha games are great for younger players (I have four nephews I'm working on). |

I purchased the Silent Death book, and downloaded Squadron Commander. @BlackWidowPilot: The download from Wargame Vault was wonky, but getting to it through RPGNow got me a good version. Very strange. I have started to read SD, and I like what I see |
