That is some great looking terrain, and a good value as well. Thanks for the link.

And of course none of it looks anything like real bocage:

Looks like it to me (but I don't have to have it exactly) however I would imagine you could paint them anyway you would like.

Not all of the "Bocage" looks exactly the same it varied in places and was formed over many years.

I have no problem with a good natured mix of form, function, myth and reality…

I think it looks nice. Wonder if it would work for 20mm gaming? I do have both 28mm and 20mm so would like to be able to cover both scales…

Thoughts?

I think it would, looks to be about an inch tall so should work really good for both scales. If you pick some up post pictures with your 20mm :)

I like the gunner checking his Iphone…

Remember that the Frontline bocage set is sold unassembled and unpainted.

Cheers

There are tutorials for painting the set in the listings, pretty simple to do and it comes with all of the material to make them to boot.

Yes, gunner is just about to watch Band of Brothers video from Netflix to pass the time.

At the risk of being a Pedantic Pain, bocage refers to the entire landscape & not just the hedgerows:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bocage

Yes, I know "bocage" is just wargamers' shorthand but ultimately it's the whole package that's significant.

In WW2, the issue was both the fairly impenetrable hedgerows & the open "killing fields" beyond.

Not to mention a lot of this looks different from the way it did in '44. All those bad drivers ramming spikes through everywhere, ruining the countryside.. it takes hundreds of years to build up a hedgerow, and only moments for a careless Sherman driver to wreck the natural ecosystem.

Good job you picked the right hobby then!

Another hedgerow vendor is WWS link which I found on Amazon and eBay

I bought a pile of it recently to make hedgerows about 1.5" wide and 1" to 2" high. My plan is to set the hedges on the edges raised fields to create the sunken roads.

I really the detail of the Frontline Games Hedgerow sets, love the rock and exposed roots in the pieces.

Good stuff.
