The only sure way to ground a drone is to make them all have to serve the needs of the Navy, Air Force, Marines, and NATO.

Ah, the rights of private property v personal privacy.

In the US it is a crime to shoot down a drone:

@Bob: Not when it's flying over your house, taking pictures of your teenage daughter in her swimsuit. link

Technically against the law in the US, but no jury has yet convicted anyone who shot one down that was hovering over their property.

I like the drone that fires a net…shades of Planet of the Apes.
Of course, training birds (or programming drones) to take one down is pretty awesome, too.
I feel a whole new era of mini wargaming about to be developed.

Interesting technical and legal issues, but the game idea is the best!

Sounds to me like this is just a new variant of skeet/trap shooting.

It seems that if you have enough influence then shooting down drones is OK.

A new Olympic sport by 2032?

You have to play both sides.

Shooter AND drone pilot, playing against one another for best total, combined score, e.g. killing drones as the shooter, and avoiding getting shot down as the drone pilot.

I want an anti-drone net gun to take down any pizza-carrying drones that cross my property :3
