AT this years Fall In convention I picked up a couple of packs of the Foundry's German Uhlans in the fleeMarket. I needed something to paint while I was waiting on the figures I had just ordered (7YW) to arrive. This isn't a unit nor part of project (yet). Just something to switch from painting guys in three cornered hats (they have 4 corners).

The deleted post was a posting I had made over on the 18th Century Board, don't know how it made over here.

Very nice work! The four-cornered helmet of the German Uhlanen was referred to as a Tschapka, from the Polish original. As a minor side note, uhlans were traditionally armed with lances. All of the German cavalry types, including the hussars, dragoons, and kuirassiers, were armed with lances in 1914. This led to the generic description of uhlans being involved in any encounter with German cavalry.
