… the day he stepped out, the U.S. was waiting. "For a man given to fiery rhetoric and long-winded sermons, Abu Muhammad al-Adnani became oddly quiet during his last summer as the chief spokesman for the Islamic State. The Syrian who exhorted thousands of young Muslims to don suicide belts appeared increasingly obsessed with his own safety, U.S. officials say. He banished cellphones, shunned large meetings and avoided going outdoors in the daytime. He began sleeping in crowded tenements in a northern Syrian town called al-Bab, betting on the presence of young children to shield him from the drones prowling the skies overhead. How come Baghdadi is still alive? I assume he is, even though supposedly poisoned, since there's been no announcement he's gone, and I think he made some announcement(s) a few months back, after that report, and his reported injury from a drone strike too (which may have been premature, or inaccurate). |

Baghdadi knows and is very aware that if he is found. He will gone very quickly. CD considerations will probably be limited. Too high value a target to let live along with his adult son. Daesh [and AQ] knows the US has a pretty good record at that sort of thing. Just ask, if you could, all the Daesh/AQ leadership, etc., that has been removed from the battlefield. I.e. Killed with extreme prejudice … as it should be … These types don't deserve any sort of trial, etc. They are enemy combatants and leadership. Legitimate targets to be serviced … Good Hunting USA … |
