Those two forward "prongs" are swing wings that move backwards about 140 degrees each to create a Y effect. So the resemblance to Buck's fighters is only minimal. Though, of course, I seem to recall that BRit25C's ship designs were lifted from early SW design concepts. |

Any resemblance to a buck rogers ship is accidental. Considering that Ralph McQuarrie designed a LOT of the SW ships* as well as BSG and The thunderfighter for BR. *Not this one directly. Ralph and Joe Johnston did a lot of variants of ships for the movies, and Doug Chiang and his crew have been mining them since episode 1. Its lineage is intentional, though. |
