Aplay test of BLB 3 using an unusual GNW scenario. Full battle report which is picture heavy

Good stuff! Can't wait for BLB III to come out.

Great battle, the stubborn Swedes do it again. I look at your paintjobs and diorama like stands and shake my head with envy.

Thanks for sharing.

it was touch and go til the final moments. The Russians are very resilient and if you keep your commanders active and moving they are able to rally retreating and sometimes routing troops better than in the previous iterations of BLB.

very very nice and inspiring setting; lots of nicely painted warfare miniatures, can't wait to play some GNW too….

Actually I also used some of my old GNW collection in there and in a break with my norm of trying to use my own Warfare stuff when I can, I also have on the table Foundry, Musketeer/Footsore and unreleased '1st Corps' sculpts from way back about 2000. The dragoon unit was one of the first wargaming units painted by David Imrie way back about 1999 – He hates them now but I have kept them for posterity. He owns stuff I've painted and vice versa.
Yes it was a modern and nostalgia day all in one!

A third edition already?

Stossstruppen echoed my sentiments. I purchased the first edition, never got around to playing it, then the 2nd (I believe it was a Christmas gift last year) and now there is a third edition. They are particularly cheap sets either (altho high production value with lots of pretty pictures). I think I will be going the route of Baroque anyway…

It's quite a few years since BLB 2 came out now. And for well over a year have only been available in pdf.

I look forward to trying BLB3 even tho I do love the 2nd edition. And unsure if I like the concept different dice (I like the 2D6 style)
